Yayoi Suetsugu began her career providing top quality window treatment (interior design with curtains, cushions, bed linens, etc.) for professionals and general clients surrounded by some of the world’s best European fabrics in the showroom of Christian Fischbacher.
She later went on to have a diverse career and showed a particular aptitude for total interior design, including both planning and kitchen design.

- Provided customer relations in Nihon FISBA’s Nagoya showroom
- 1994
- Joined BeWest, specialists in importing housing materials from America and Canada

- Traveled overseas to Portland and San Francisco for business
- 1997
- Conducted planning for Canadian imported kitchens
- 1998
- Became a certified interior coordinator and kitchen specialist
- 1999
- Studied abroad in New York for personal growth
- 2000
- Returned to Japan in November after visiting England and Spain
- 2001
- Returned to her position as sales chief at BeWest
- 2002
- Joined Home System Laboratory, a producer of order-made kitchens
- 2003
- Conducted design, planning, construction, and supervision of order-made kitchens and household fixtures
- 2006
- Traveled to Guangzhou, China for business
- 2007
- Became a freelance interior coordinator
- 2008
- Founded Boite-de-bijou (within the Paisible general store)
- 2009
- Boite-de-bijou became a registered architectural firm
- 2013
- Became a member of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), said to be the top such institute in the world
What I value
I value design with the best in terms of detail and quality that also possesses casual elegance. This is why I make sure my designs include wonderful materials and skilled craftsmanship that is optimal for each location.
My hope is that my work will gently place a bit of the spirit I l0ve so much about my homeland of Japan within the hearts of those living in the spaces I design.
